SMART Technologies Inc. Sponsors Lake Louise World Cup’s First Official Interactive Information Kiosk
Rear Projection SMART Board™ 3000i interactive whiteboard provides gateway to real-time results and event information
Calgary, AB --- November 25, 2003 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces its sponsorship of the 2003 CIBC Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup held November 26 to December 7. SMART has provided the official information kiosk in the main lobby of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, where the event headquarters is located. The Rear Projection SMART Board 3000i interactive whiteboard will serve as the official gateway to real-time race results, schedules, and event and athlete information.
Prior to SMART’s involvement in the event, organizers posted race results and event information for spectators and guests using paper and tacks. This year marks the first time that the event will feature a touch-sensitive, interactive kiosk where event information can be accessed online. With a computer image displayed on the interactive whiteboard, spectators and guests can simply touch the screen to navigate three dedicated Web sites specific to the event, using their finger as a mouse to access the information they need.
“The 3000i provides an interactive kiosk application that perfectly meets the need of CIBC Lake Louise World Cup attendees for easy access to up-to-the-minute content,” says Nancy Knowlton, president and co-CEO of SMART. “Our products are widely used by sports teams and sportscasters for debriefing and explaining plays. We are happy to add skiers and ski-enthusiasts to the list.”
